LCS Monitoring Tool
LCS provides a web-based monitoring tool that helps you track the daily activity in the LCS. The monitoring tool can be accessed through your browser by going to the following website:
http://<your lcs-ip>:<your lcs-port>/
You will need to replace the IP and port in the address above to match your local configuration.
Important Information To Remember
By successfully opening the LCS Monitoring interface, you are confirming that the LCS is properly running in your server.
No login is required to access the monitoring interface since no sensitive information is displayed. Because the information displayed is automatically updated every two minutes, there is no need to manually refresh the page.
The two pieces of information that are very important for you to monitor are "Test parts finished and saved" and "Test parts finished and pending." At the end of each testing day, you should have zero in "Test parts finished and pending," and all your completed tests in "Test parts finished and saved." As tests are completed, they are added to "Test parts finished and pending," and eventually the system automatically uploads the student responses (completed tests) to the KCA central servers and updates "Test parts finished and saved."

The following information is available in the LCS monitoring tool:
Active Test Parts Graph
This graph helps you monitor the number of students CURRENTLY taking the Kansas Computerized Assessments. The graph covers from 7 AM to 7 PM, and it does not include the students taking the practice tests.
Test Parts Finished and Saved
This section displays the number of test parts finished in the LCS and their responses have also being saved to KCA central servers.
Test Parts Finished and Pending
This section displays the number of test parts finished in the LCS, but responses are still pending to be saved to KCA central server. Responses for these tests are temporarily saved in the LCS and are constantly and automatically transmitted to KCA central servers. The number of test parts pending should increase and decrease during testing, but it should eventually decrease to 0 at the end of the testing day.
Practice Tests
This section displays the number of practice tests taken using the LCS in the current day.
Search a Test Part
Using this feature, you can check the status of a test part taken by a given student. You will need the login information in the "ticket" used by the student to take the test. Enter the username, password, and sessionId information to search the status of a test part in the LCS.
The status of a test part is "Active" if the student is currently taking the test part. The time when the student started taking the test is displayed as part of the search results.
The status of a test part is "Pending" if the student finished taking the test part and LCS has not yet saved the responses to the KCA central servers. The time when the student started and finished the test part is displayed as part of the search results.
The status of a test part is "Saved" if the student has finished taking the test part and the responses are also saved to KCA central servers. The time when the student started and finished the test part and the time when the responses are saved in KCA Central Server are displayed as part of the search results.
