KCA & TestBuilder

As the school year nears an end we wanted to inform you of a couple of issues regarding KCA and TestBuilder.

KCA – Next release of KCA
The next release for KCA is scheduled for July 5th, 2010. We will be updating KCA from version 5.3 to 5.4.

More information will follow within the next week.

TestBuilder – We have recently implemented a limit to the number of items/passages that a test can contain.

TestBuilder is intended to create formative tests for teachers to use with their students. Creation of an extremely long test that would never be appropriate for such a use has on occasion this year crashed the TestBuilder system. To prevent any future occurrences we are limiting the tests teachers can build to 120 items or 20 reading passages.

Longer tests can no longer be created and any existing longer tests will be removed from the system.

The longer tests will remain in the system until July 5th so that they may be printed or edited down so that they meet the new requirements.

Any test that remains in the system on July 5th that exceeds the question limit will be permanently removed.

If you should have any questions you can reach Amy at (785) 864-7092 or via email at amytack@ku.edu.
