Important notice for teachers of students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Thursday, 15 September 2011 7:59 CDT

A KSDE committee reviewed all the test forms for Spring 2012 to evaluate accessibility for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The committee found that the forms selected for the Read-Aloud accommodation were more accessible than the forms that will be used without accommodations.

Select the Read-Aloud test type for Spring 2012 to get the most accessible form for your students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You will get the KCA general and KAMM tests used with the whole state, and you’ll get scripts for signing directions and test items as needed.

This is not a requirement! It’s a suggestion that will help you to avoid passages and items that are less accessible for students who are deaf/hard of hearing.
